The Achterhoek represented in the international Social Gastronomy Movement

Stadsboerin Doetinchem is affiliated with the Social Gastronomy Movement (SGM). It is a global network that uses food to find solutions to social problems in various areas. As a leading food region, the Achterhoek is keen to exchange experiences and knowledge with other regions. Platform Achterhoek Food platform supports Stadsboerin Doetinchem's membership. Platform Achterhoek Food shares the knowledge and inspiration gained in the Social Gastronomy Movement with other initiators in the region.

Achterhoek Food collaborates with University of Gastronomic Sciences

This week, third-year students from the Italian University of Gastronomic Sciences (also known as the Slow Food University) visited the Achterhoek. We put together a nice program for them, during which they visited various artisans and producers in the Achterhoek.

Stadsboerin has won the EU Agricultural & Rural Inspiration Award Popular Vote !

The project, led by Ellen Willems, a journalist and horticulturist, triumphed on December 4th, securing the most votes among 24 finalists.

Achterhoek Food Initiative is nominee for the Agricultural & Rural Inspiration Award (ARIA)

Ellen Willems is extremely proud. Her company, Urban Farmer is the only Dutch entry which has been nominated for the European ARIA Award in the category of socio-economic rural projects.
